On June 18, 2017 at 5:20 P.M. officers responded to 2001 25th Street at the Green City Supermarket in reference to a robbery from business. As units were responding, the call was updated with information that the clerk had been shot. We need your help to solve this robbery and bring the guilty to justice.
Arriving officers spoke to the clerk, who was suffering from what appeared to be non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The investigation revealed two suspects entered the business and demanded money from the clerk. A physical altercation occurred and both suspects fired several shots. The investigation revealed the victim was struck by flying debris and not injured as a result of being shot. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money from the business.
The victim/clerk is a 56-year-old Newport News man who was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
One suspect wore a yellow shirt, blue jeans and had a black scarf around his face. He appeared to be in his late 20s to early 30s with a slim build. The second suspect wore a red shirt and dark blue jeans and a black ski mask. He appears to be in his mid-30s and had a “thick” build.
